What’s driving the result?

Observations are calculated from this demo dataset. They describe variances, not independently established business causes.

THE DETAIL BEHIND THE DASHBOARD

Profit & loss

QAR ’000 · Favourable variance is positive

Costs are displayed as positive expenses. Cost variance = budget − actual. EBITDA = revenue − direct costs − operating expenses. Variance % uses the absolute budget as denominator.

LOOK FORWARD

What changes
if the plan changes?

Adjust the July–December plan to explore the effect on full-year EBITDA. The selected business unit applies; the reporting-period filter above does not affect this full-year scenario.

FULL YEAR 2026 · H1 ACTUAL + H2 SCENARIO

H2 revenue = H2 budget × (1 + revenue change). Direct costs use each unit’s H2 budget cost rate plus the selected percentage-point change. H2 operating expenses remain at budget. This simplified model excludes tax, financing, depreciation and working capital.

About the data and calculations

Northshore Services Group is fictional. The dataset contains monthly revenue, direct costs and operating expenses for Advisory, Managed Services and Projects. Actuals cover January–June 2026; budget covers the full year. There are no intercompany balances or eliminations in this simplified example.

Gross profit = revenue − direct costs. EBITDA margin = total EBITDA ÷ total revenue, never an average of unit margins. Full-year baseline = H1 actual + unchanged H2 budget. Scenario EBITDA movement is measured against that baseline, not against the original full-year budget.

No customer files are uploaded or stored. Filters and scenarios run in your browser. The P&L export contains the selected actual and budget figures in QAR thousands. This demonstration shows a reporting concept; a client Power BI or Alteryx implementation would be scoped separately.
